Hello and welcome to First Grade!
My name is Michelle Oswald, and I am so excited to be your child's first-grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year!
I am originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, and moved to the area in 2019. I absolutely love being part of the Pomaria-Garmany family. This is my 25th year of teaching, and I have previously taught kindergarten and second grade.
I graduated from Boiling Springs High School and earned both my Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and my Master of Teaching in Elementary Education from Converse College.
My philosophy of education is centered on the belief that educators should provide students with the knowledge and skills that become an integral part of their lives and help them reach their fullest potential. I strive to nurture each child's natural curiosity while encouraging them to become confident, independent thinkers and lifelong learners.
I live in Chapin, South Carolina, with my husband, Zac, and our two children, Emily (16) and Jackson (15). Outside of school, I enjoy crafting and spending time with my family at the lake, where we love swimming, fishing, and exploring nature.
I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning, growth, and fun with your child! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I value open communication and look forward to partnering with you to make this a wonderful first-grade year!
Warmly,
Michelle Oswald
